How to Measure Blinds

Ensuring that you’re Made to Measure Blinds are the perfect fit for your windows is paramount for achieving both functionality and aesthetic appeal. To accurately measure your windows, follow these steps:

Step 1: Measure the Width and Drop
Start by measuring the width of your window from left to right, and the drop from the top of the window to where you want your blinds to end. Due to the possibility of windows not being perfectly square, it’s advisable to take these measurements in three places for both width and drop—near the top, in the middle, and close to the bottom. Utilize the smallest of these measurements to guarantee that your blinds will fit well within the window space.

Step 2: Choose the Fitting Type – Inside or Outside Recess
Decide whether you prefer your blinds to be mounted inside the window recess, which offers a clean, integrated look, or outside the recess, which can make windows appear larger and hide less attractive window features. For inside recess fittings, measure the width and drop within the recess. If you opt for an outside recess fit, add approximately 4cm to both the width and drop measurements to ensure the blinds cover the window area adequately and provide optimal light control and privacy.

FAQ

How to Wash Curtains?

Keeping your Roman Blinds in pristine condition is easy with the following care instructions:

  • Regular Dusting: Use a soft cloth or a vacuum cleaner with an upholstery attachment to gently remove dust. This should be done weekly to avoid dust accumulation.
  • Spot Cleaning: For small stains, use a mild detergent mixed with water. Apply gently with a soft cloth, dabbing the area without soaking the fabric. It’s essential to test this method on an inconspicuous area first to ensure fabric safety.
  • Professional Cleaning: For a thorough clean, we recommend professional dry cleaning. This method ensures that the fabric retains its colour, texture, and structural integrity, prolonging the life and beauty of your blinds.

How to Remove Blinds?

Whether you’re redecorating or cleaning, removing Roman Blinds is straightforward:

  • Raise the Blinds: Fully raise your blinds to reduce bulk and weight, making them easier to handle and less likely to be damaged during removal.
  • Access the Brackets: Locate the brackets that hold the blind in place. These are usually situated at the top of the window, behind the blind.
  • Loosen or Release: Depending on your specific blind model, you may need to loosen the screws that secure the blind within the brackets. Some models have a release tab that, when pressed, allows the blind to be freed easily.
  • Gently Remove: With the brackets loosened or released, carefully slide the blind out. It’s advisable to have someone assist you if the blinds are wide or cumbersome.
